This leads to a better understanding of my student's interests, strengths, needs and progress. Communication can occur in a variety of ways and I invite all families to come in for a visit to an occupational therapy session. These visits throughout the school year are a great way to show current skill and discuss carry over to home or community. Furthermore, I value functional skills and the role of work and advocate for opportunities within our school setting to facilitate pre vocation or functional skills in varieties of ways as this leads to acquisition of skills, ability to problem solve, independence and self worth.
