1st Grade Email Phone: 262 376-5725 Hello, my name is Janis Lennon. I was hired by the Grafton School District in 2005 as a substitute teacher for the elementary schools. In the fall of 2008, I was overjoyed to be hired as a kindergarten teacher for a bubble class at Grafton Elementary School. The following year, I looped to first grade and continued teaching first grade until GES closed in 2018. I was honored to join the Kennedy Elementary School staff in the fall of 2018 to continue teaching first grade. I greatly enjoy teaching first grade students! Their excitement and strong desire to learn is contagious! In addition to having experience teaching 5K and first grade, I have also taught 4K and second grade. Previous to teaching in Grafton, I taught 7 years for Milwaukee Public Schools. I graduated from UW-Whitewater in 1990 with an Early Childhood Education Degree. Since graduating, I have taken numerous courses, workshops, and seminars, in addition to participating in our local professional development opportunities all to stay up to date with best practices for teaching and learning. I feel grateful and honored to be a part of the Grafton School District. In my free time I enjoy biking, shopping, reading, and spending time with my family. Twenty plus years ago my husband and I moved to Grafton. Our two daughters attended Grafton Public Schools, graduated from Grafton High School, and then went on to graduate from UW-Madison. We feel fortunate to call Grafton "home."
