Psychologist Email Phone: 262 376-5657 Hello! My name is Julie McGivern and I am the school psychologist at Kennedy Elementary School. I've had the pleasure of working in the Grafton School District since 2016. Before joining the Grafton School District, I worked as a school psychologist in the Whitefish Bay School District for six years and Stoughton School District for four years. I have a bachelor's degree from St. Norbert College and Master's and Educational Specialist degrees from UW-Milwaukee.
My role within the Grafton School District is multi-faceted. As a school psychologist, I want to be an advocate for all students and families to help children reach their full potential. My goal is always to meet the needs of the whole child. In order to attain this goal, I often collaborate with teachers, students, support staff, principals and families to assess the needs of students and to help coordinate activities among the school, home and community to identify and address children's learning and social-emotional needs. The role of the school psychologist in all of these efforts is to enhance student learning and overall well-being.
When I'm not at work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two sons, Keegan and Max. I love to spend time outdoors, especially at our family cottage in northern Wisconsin during the summer months. I enjoy running, a variety of sports, and am an avid Badger and Packer fan.
