Psychologist Email Phone: 262 376-5721 Hello! My name is Katie Martinez-Ortiz and I am currently the school psychologist at Grafton High School. In addition, I complete special education evaluations for the parochial schools within the district. This will be my second year in the district. Prior to Grafton, I was a school psychologist in the Burlington Area School District. I am thrilled to be back in the Northern Milwaukee Area, the place where my husband and I call home!
I completed by bachelors degree in psychology at UW-LaCrosse and my graduate degree at UW-Milwaukee.
Within the Grafton School District I aim to meet the needs of every student so that all students can be college and career ready life long learners. As the school psychologist, I assess and supports students learning and academic needs, as well as their social/emotional functioning. It is my goal to create a safe and positive school environment that is inclusive of all students. I believe that positive relationships as well as collaboration and communication among school staff, families, and other important people in a child's life are key to supporting the positive development of the whole child.
Outside of school I enjoy spending time with my husband, our family, friends, and our puppy who always keeps us on our toes! We enjoy being active outside, going to Packer and Bucks games, trying out new restaurants around the Milwaukee area, and traveling. Personally, I love practicing yoga, going to coffee shops, and reading.
