Science Email Phone: 262 376-5590 Website Link I have been at Grafton High School since 2002 teaching Chemistry, Accelerated Chemistry, Advanced Chemistry, AP Chemistry and for one year Honor's Earth Science. Before Grafton, I taught AP Chemistry, Chemistry, Physics and Honor's Physics as well as coach cross country and track for 5 years in Elgin, IL. My childhood dream was to became a teacher and make a difference in my students' lives, just as so many great teachers in Nebraska did for me (Mrs. Whitworth, Mr. Hartel, Mr. Campbell, etc). Continuing my education brought me to Wisconsin where I attend Wisconsin Lutheran College in Milwaukee. I got my Masters in Science Education at National Louis University in Evanston, IL. In addition to teaching chemistry, I have taught some online graduate classes at Wisconsin Lutheran College in the education department. I have aspirations of pursing my National Board Certification and perhaps a doctorate someday. I have a passion for teaching that is only second to my love for my family. I have two sons and a wonderful husband, Matthew. If I am not teaching, grading, studying or with my boys, you can find me doing one of my hobbies: photography, gardening or trying something new. My teaching philosophy is simple. You work hard for me and I will work extra hard and do what I can to help you. I have high expectations for both my students and myself. If students are having trouble in chemistry (as it can be difficult at times), I strongly encourage them to come in for help or get a peer tutor. Students who come in for help can usually clarify a misunderstanding in just 10 or 15 minutes. This will insure that the student feels confident in their learning which makes everyone enjoy the class more. Students who have questions after 3:15 can call me at home (the number in on your course syllabus) until 9 pm or come in during BHT. I'm looking forward to another great year at GHS
